The Indian Institute of Technology Mandi Summer Internship 2026 is a residential research internship designed to immerse undergraduate and postgraduate students in hands-on research and innovation at one of India’s premier technical institutes. Running across the summer months of May to July, this programme offers participants the opportunity to work closely with IIT Mandi faculty members across diverse research domains. Interns will gain practical experience with hardware and software research tools, engage in real academic research, and deepen their understanding of advanced scientific and technological challenges. The environment is structured to cultivate academic curiosity and support students considering future careers in research or higher education.
Eligibility Criteria
• Pre-final year students enrolled in B.Tech./B.E. programmes.
• First-year postgraduate students (pre-final year of their programme).
• Applicants must be from institutions, colleges, or universities that have signed a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IIT Mandi.
• Applicants are expected to identify their proposed area of research and a potential IIT Mandi faculty supervisor as part of the application process.
• Selected candidates must arrange a Letter of Recommendation or No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their home institute.

Salary details
Selected interns will receive a stipend of ₹10,000 per month during the internship period. Interns are responsible for their own travel and living expenses.
