General Description
Queen Mary University of London is seeking to appoint a Research Associate to contribute to an active and impactful research programme within the university. The postholder will join a collaborative academic environment and support the delivery of high-quality research aligned with institutional priorities.
The role involves undertaking independent and team-based research, contributing to the design and execution of research projects, and producing high-quality outputs suitable for publication in leading academic journals. The successful candidate will be responsible for data collection, analysis, and interpretation, as well as maintaining accurate research records and ensuring compliance with relevant research governance and ethical standards.
The Research Associate will work closely with principal investigators and other members of the research team, contributing to project meetings, research dissemination activities, and the preparation of funding proposals. The role may also include opportunities to assist in teaching, mentoring students, and contributing to the broader academic life of the department.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold a PhD (or be close to completion) in a relevant discipline related to the research area
Evidence of a strong academic background and research capability
Required expertise/skills
Demonstrated ability to conduct high-quality independent and collaborative research
Experience in research design, data collection, and analysis
Strong academic writing skills with evidence of publication or potential to publish in peer-reviewed journals
Ability to communicate complex research findings effectively
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Commitment to maintaining high standards of research integrity and ethics
Salary details
£38,165 – £44,722 per annum (Grade 4)
