Research Assistant/Associate (Fixed-Term)

General Description:
The University of Glasgow is seeking to appoint a Research Assistant/Associate to contribute to a Cancer Research UK (PCUK)-funded research project investigating drug resistance in advanced prostate cancer under the supervision of Professor Imran Ahmad. The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality research activities, support the formulation and submission of research publications and research grant proposals, and assist in the management and direction of this complex research project as opportunities arise. This is a full-time, fixed-term position to provide maternity cover for up to 12 months or until the substantive postholder returns. Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants should meet the academic and professional requirements appropriate for appointment as either a Research Assistant or Research Associate.
- Candidates should possess relevant qualifications and experience in biomedical, cancer, molecular, or related life sciences disciplines appropriate to the level of appointment.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively to collaborative research projects and scientific publications is expected.
Required Expertise/Skills:
- Knowledge of cancer biology, particularly prostate cancer research.
- Experience in laboratory-based biomedical or translational research.
- Ability to contribute to scientific publications and research proposals.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Capability to assist in the coordination and management of a multidisciplinary research project.
Salary Details:
- Research Assistant (Grade 6): £33,951 – £37,694 per annum
- Research Associate (Grade 7): £41,064 – £46,049 per annum
