General Description
The Institute invites applications for full-time positions at the levels of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor Grade-I, and Assistant Professor Grade-II for various departments. These appointments are aligned with the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) pay levels and are open to eligible Indian Nationals and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card holders. Candidates are expected to contribute to teaching, research, and service at a premier technical institution with a focus on innovation and professional development.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should meet the qualification and experience requirements as per Schedule-‘E’ of the NIT Statute (Amended 2017) and prevailing Ministry of Education/UGC norms. Educational credentials must include a relevant doctoral degree with a strong academic record; specific experience thresholds vary by faculty rank and are governed by statutory and regulatory guidelines.

Required Expertise / Skills
The recruitment covers multiple departments with backlog vacancies, including but not limited to:

• Professor (Pay Level 14A): Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Information Technology (backlog for ST and OBC categories).
• Associate Professor (Pay Level 13A2): Architecture & Planning, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Physics (backlog across SC, ST, OBC).
• Assistant Professor Grade-I (Pay Level 12): Architecture & Planning, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering (backlog for ST and OBC).
• Assistant Professor Grade-II (Pay Level 10/11): Biotechnology (backlog for OBC).
  Candidates are expected to demonstrate strong domain knowledge, research potential, and effective teaching capabilities relevant to their applied discipline(s).

Salary Details
Salaries and related benefits follow the 7th CPC academic pay levels:

• Professor – Academic Level 14A
• Associate Professor – Academic Level 13A2
• Assistant Professor Grade-I – Academic Level 12
• Assistant Professor Grade-II – Academic Level 10/11
  In addition to basic pay, eligible allowances and benefits apply as per Institute and Government of India norms.
