General Description
The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR), one of the world’s leading cancer research institutes with over 100 years of scientific excellence, is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Training Fellow to join the Functional Proteomics Group under the guidance of Professor Jyoti Choudhary. The group focuses on understanding the molecular phenotype of cancer through the study of protein-protein interactions, signalling pathways, post-translational modifications, and protein expression.
The successful candidate will develop innovative quantitative proteomics workflows to characterise protein degradation and function. The role involves developing or optimising new proteomics methodologies and conducting comprehensive end-to-end analyses across a variety of biological samples.
This is a full-time position (35 hours per week) based in Chelsea, London, offered on a fixed-term contract of 18 months with the potential for extension. The role is eligible for visa sponsorship, and support will be provided for visa-related costs for international applicants. Career progression is supported through annual performance reviews.

Eligibility Criteria
- PhD in Biochemistry or Chemistry
- Candidates nearing completion of their PhD may apply, but must have confirmation of award within 6 months of employment
- Total postdoctoral experience must not exceed 7 years (including prior roles at equivalent level) as per ICR workforce policy
Required Expertise/Skills
- Strong knowledge of biological mass spectrometry
- Expertise in biochemical and protein purification techniques
- Experience in computational analysis of omics data
- Ability to perform statistical analysis, data integration, and bioinformatics
- Demonstrated ability to develop or optimise proteomics methodologies
Salary Details
- Starting salary: £45,600 per annum
- Salary progression based on relevant postdoctoral experience and annual performance review
