General Description –
The University of Hull’s Hull Health Trials Unit (HHTU) within the Faculty of Health Sciences is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher in Implementation Science on a full-time fixed-term contract (36 months). This role is embedded in applied health research that shapes the delivery and evaluation of complex public health and clinical interventions. The postholder will play a key role in delivering two major work packages across the NEWDAY-ABC process evaluation and Re-SCAIT studies — contributing to governance and ethical approvals, qualitative data collection and analysis, intervention delivery observation, and co-design workshops to refine implementation strategies. Collaborative work with study leads and partners from the University of Hull, the University of Sheffield, and participating study sites will be central to achieving research objectives. The position offers engagement with methodological and substantive research that advances understanding of implementation processes within health and care settings.
Eligibility Criteria
• A doctoral degree (PhD) or equivalent qualification in a relevant field such as implementation science, health services research, public health, or social science.
• Evidence of research experience in health intervention evaluation, qualitative methods, or implementation research.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams with public involvement members and research partners.
Required Expertise/Skills
• Demonstrated skills in qualitative research, including conducting semi-structured interviews, non-participant observation, thematic analysis, and co-design workshop facilitation.
• Strong analytical capabilities with experience in interpreting implementation data and contributing to research governance documentation.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaboration with study teams and dissemination of research findings.
• Familiarity with research governance and ethical approval processes in health research contexts.
• Commitment to inclusive research practices and working with diverse stakeholders across academic and clinical sites.
Salary Details –
The salary is aligned with the UK academic research pay scale, with a range likely reflective of Grade 9/10 appointments, approximately £39,906 to £46,049 per annum (employer-provided estimate).
