The University of Oxford invites applications for the position of Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Cancer Vaccinology at the Oxford Centre for Immuno-Oncology. The successful candidate will join a highly motivated and collaborative research environment focused on advancing cutting-edge immunotherapy approaches against cancer. The research programme is dedicated to developing innovative cancer vaccines designed to stimulate the immune system to recognise and eliminate cancer cells, contributing to the broader mission of improving cancer treatment outcomes through immunological discovery and translational science.
The role involves working within a multidisciplinary academic team under expert scientific leadership, contributing to ongoing experimental and translational research projects in cancer immunotherapy. The post holder will be expected to engage in high-quality research activity, contribute to publications, collaborate within the research group, and support the development of novel experimental approaches within the field of immuno-oncology.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants are expected to hold (or be near completion of) a PhD/DPhil in a relevant biological or medical science discipline. Candidates should demonstrate a strong background in immunology, cancer biology, or related biomedical sciences, with proven research experience in experimental laboratory settings.
Required expertise/skills
Candidates should have strong expertise in immunological research methods and/or cancer biology techniques. Experience in cell culture, molecular biology, and/or immunotherapy research is highly desirable. The role requires excellent analytical skills, the ability to design and conduct independent research, strong problem-solving capabilities, and effective communication skills for scientific writing and collaboration within a research team.
