Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Pakistan Studies
The Oxford School of Global and Area Studies (OSGA) at the University of Oxford is seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Pakistan Studies. Funded by the Rangoonwala Foundation, this role offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside Professor Adnan Naseemullah in developing Pakistan Studies at Oxford while pursuing an original programme of academic research.
This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract with a target start date of January 1, 2027 (or as soon as possible thereafter). Online interviews are scheduled to be held on Monday, September 28, 2026.
Key Responsibilities: • Conduct independent research on Pakistan and publish high-quality research outputs. • Present research at academic conferences, workshops, and seminars. • Organize research events, academic seminars, or conferences to enhance the profile of Pakistan Studies at Oxford. • Contribute to teaching programs in Global and Area Studies as well as South Asian Studies. • Supervise MSc dissertations and engage actively in student mentoring. • Contribute to the broader intellectual life and community of OSGA and the Centre for South Asian Studies.
