General Description –
The University of Liverpool invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Grade 7 within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, School of the Arts (specific departmental context). This fixed-term, full-time research appointment offers an opportunity to contribute to sustained academic research activity under the guidance of senior academic staff and as part of a scholarly research team. Responsibilities will include conducting independent and collaborative research aligned with the objectives of the host research programme, contributing to research outputs such as peer-reviewed publications and reports, engaging in data collection and analysis appropriate to the project, and participating in academic dissemination activities. The role will support the wider research strategy of the School and may include contributions to knowledge exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration, and scholarly networking within and beyond the University.
Eligibility Criteria
• A doctoral degree (PhD) in a relevant academic discipline or equivalent research experience.
• Demonstrated ability to undertake original research, evidenced by publications, reports, or similar scholarly output.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a research team within an academic setting.
• Capacity to engage with stakeholders appropriate to the research area and contribute to research dissemination.
Required Expertise/Skills
• Strong research skills, including methodological competence relevant to the post’s academic field.
• Excellent analytical and written communication abilities.
• Proven ability to contribute to academic publications and presentations.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to manage project tasks and meet deadlines.
Salary Details –
The appointment will be made at University Grade 7, with a salary in the range of approximately £39,906 to £46,049 per annum, reflecting typical Grade 7 research salaries at the University of Liverpool.
