This research-intensive doctoral role sits within the Wellbeing, Health and Communities pathway of the White Rose Doctoral Training Partnership (WRDTP). The successful candidate will pursue an ESRC-funded +3 PhD studentship focused on advancing understanding of how loneliness manifests among young populations worldwide, identifying lifestyle correlates, and exploring associations with mental health outcomes. This interdisciplinary project will involve quantitative and/or qualitative approaches to identify global patterns and pathways, potentially engaging with existing cohort datasets, secondary data analysis, comparative studies across regions, and mixed methods designs. The studentship is embedded in a supportive research environment that bridges academic inquiry and public health practice, and the student will benefit from mentorship by expert supervisors and access to collaborative networks.
