General Description
University College London (UCL) is seeking an experienced Executive Assistant to provide high-level administrative and organisational support to Professor Sarah J. Tabrizi within the Queen Square Institute of Neurology. This role is offered as maternity cover and presents an opportunity to work at the forefront of neurological research in a globally recognised academic institution.

The postholder will play a central role in ensuring the efficient operation of Professor Tabrizi’s academic, research, and leadership responsibilities. Duties include managing complex diaries and schedules, coordinating meetings and events, handling correspondence, and supporting the delivery of research and administrative activities. The role requires liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including senior academics, clinicians, collaborators, and funding bodies.

The successful candidate will also assist with travel arrangements, financial administration, and project coordination, ensuring smooth workflow across multiple priorities. The position is based at UCL’s Queen Square campus, a leading centre for neuroscience research and clinical excellence. This is a full-time, fixed-term role aligned with the period of maternity cover.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should have significant experience in a senior administrative or executive assistant role, preferably within a higher education, research, or healthcare environment. A high level of education or equivalent professional experience is required.

Required Expertise/Skills
Candidates must demonstrate exceptional organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work proactively. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with the ability to interact professionally with a wide range of stakeholders.

Proficiency in standard office software and administrative systems is required. Candidates should have experience handling confidential information with discretion and possess strong attention to detail. The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment is essential.

Salary Details
£38,308–£46,155 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance, depending on experience.
