The Darjeeling Hill Institute of Technology & Management (DHITM), established under the Orissa Child Welfare & Education Trust (OCWET) in partnership with the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA), Darjeeling, has announced faculty recruitment for the academic year 2026. The institute is located at Hum Takdah, Rangli-Rangliot Block in Darjeeling at an altitude of approximately 6000 feet, offering a serene, eco-rich academic environment surrounded by tea gardens and Himalayan biodiversity. The institution is affiliated with MAKAUT, West Bengal and approved by AICTE, operating with a strong focus on academic excellence, discipline, research orientation, and holistic student development.
The recruitment drive invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in the departments of BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) and BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications). The institute aims to strengthen its academic delivery in management and computer application programs by engaging qualified and motivated educators who can contribute to teaching, mentoring, and institutional development. Selected candidates will be responsible for delivering lectures, conducting practical sessions, guiding students in academic and career development, and contributing to institutional academic initiatives, research activities, and administrative responsibilities.
Eligibility Criteria
For BBA (Assistant Professor):
Candidates must possess an MBA in a relevant specialization with First Class. A Ph.D. is preferred.
For BCA (Assistant Professor):
Candidates must hold an MCA or M.Sc. in Computer Science / Information Technology with First Class. A Ph.D. in Computer Science is preferred. Candidates with NET/SET qualification or Ph.D. will be given preference.
Required Expertise / Skills
Applicants should demonstrate strong subject knowledge in their respective disciplines, along with effective communication and classroom delivery skills. Candidates should have a passion for teaching, student mentorship, and academic development. Research orientation, familiarity with curriculum development, and the ability to contribute to institutional growth will be considered desirable. Prior teaching or industry experience of 2–3 years is preferred, though highly qualified fresh candidates may also be considered.
Salary Details
Salary will be offered as per institutional norms. The institute has stated that remuneration will not be a constraint for deserving candidates, ensuring competitive compensation aligned with qualifications and experience.
