General Description
The Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad, an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, invites online applications from highly qualified Indian nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), and foreign nationals for faculty positions in the disciplines of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering. Available positions include Assistant Professor Grade II, Assistant Professor Grade I, and Associate Professor. The institute seeks candidates with an established record of independent, high-quality research and a strong commitment to teaching and research. Candidates from SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PWD categories and women are highly encouraged to apply. Appointments for foreign nationals will be on a contract basis for up to five years.
Eligibility Criteria
B.E./B.Tech. degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, or a closely related field.
Ph.D. in Metallurgy, Materials, or relevant area of research.
First class or equivalent in the penultimate degree with a consistently strong academic record.
Experience requirements:
Associate Professor: Minimum six years post-Ph.D. experience in industry, research, or teaching, including at least three years as Assistant Professor Grade I or equivalent, with proven research supervision, publications, and sponsored project experience.
Assistant Professor Grade I: At least three years post-Ph.D. experience.
Assistant Professor Grade II: Less than three years post-Ph.D. experience.
Required expertise/skills
Strong research credentials and publications in peer-reviewed journals/conferences.
Experience in supervising research students and handling sponsored research/consultancy projects.
Commitment to high-quality teaching and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Salary details
Assistant Professor Grade II: Level 10 (₹57,700–₹98,200) or Level 11 (₹68,900–₹1,17,200)
Assistant Professor Grade I: Level 12 (₹1,01,500–₹1,67,400)
Associate Professor: Level 13A2 (₹1,39,600–₹2,11,300)
