University of Glasgow

Location
Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom

General Description
The Academic Fellowship in General Practice is a structured clinical academic training opportunity designed for early-career General Practitioners seeking to develop a career that integrates clinical practice with research and academic advancement. This fellowship forms part of a nationally supported initiative to strengthen academic primary care and develop future leaders in general practice research.

The post offers a balanced combination of clinical duties and protected academic time, enabling fellows to gain hands-on experience in primary care research within an established academic environment. Fellows will work alongside leading researchers and clinicians, contributing to ongoing research programmes while developing independent research skills.

The fellowship provides exposure to a wide range of methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative research approaches, and encourages participation in interdisciplinary collaborations. Fellows will engage in research activities aligned with primary care priorities such as improving healthcare delivery, patient outcomes, and service design.
