An exciting full-time, fixed-term opportunity at the University of Liverpool invites an early-career researcher to join the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate in the Institute of Systems, Molecular and Integrative Biology within the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics. This role is oriented around contributing to high-quality research projects that advance understanding in health sciences, working alongside academic colleagues in a collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment. The position offers a chance to further develop research skills, contribute to scientific outputs and participate in cross-disciplinary discussions shaping future research directions.

General Description
The successful candidate will support and lead components of a defined research agenda within the institute, engaging in experimental design, data collection and analysis, interpretation of findings, and dissemination through scholarly outputs. You will work closely with supervisors and research teams to deliver project milestones and contribute to publications and presentations. The role emphasizes rigorous scientific inquiry, teamwork, and the ability to communicate research findings clearly to academic peers and stakeholders. You will be part of a vibrant research community with access to supportive infrastructure and professional development opportunities.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should hold a PhD (or have submitted a thesis with an expected award before or shortly after appointment) in a relevant discipline within the life sciences, biomedical sciences, pharmacology, systems biology or related fields, demonstrating appropriate academic and research preparation for post-doctoral research.

Require Expertise, Skills
• Demonstrable experience in research methodologies appropriate to the project’s focus area and the ability to conduct independent research within a structured programme.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis, interpretation and presentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to contribute to research reports and scholarly publications.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and to manage project tasks effectively.

Salary Details 
Annual salary is in the range of approximately £39,906 to £46,049, commensurate with experience and in line with grade 7 research staff benchmarks.
