This full-time research position invites an early-career neuroscientist to join a dynamic academic team based at the University of Sussex in collaboration with Brighton and Sussex Medical School. The role is designed to contribute to impactful neuroscience research and to support high-quality scholarly outputs within a multidisciplinary research environment at one of the UK’s leading universities for brain and behavioural science. The successful candidate will be part of research activities that align with the broader mission of Sussex Neuroscience to advance understanding of neural systems, cognition and behaviour in health and disease.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold a doctoral level qualification (PhD or equivalent) in a relevant healthcare-related discipline such as Medicine, Psychology, Neuroscience, Nursing or closely aligned fields. A strong academic record and demonstrated research capability are expected.
Required Expertise, Skills
The role requires substantive research experience in neuroscience or related domains, including the ability to conduct independent research, synthesise evidence, and contribute to research publications. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with research colleagues are essential. Experience relevant to the specific research theme of the project will be an advantage.
Salary Details
This position is on a UK university research scale with a salary range indicative of Grade 7, which typically falls between approximately £34,610 and £46,049 per annum, pro rata if part-time.
