This opportunity offers a structured, 36-month research engagement focused on experimental and computational investigations into vortex-induced vibration phenomena in flexible cylindrical structures, a topic with significant implications for offshore and structural engineering applications.

The project titled “Experimental and Numerical Studies on Response Control Mechanism of Vortex-Induced Vibration of Flexible Cylindrical Structures” involves a blend of theoretical, numerical, and experimental work to understand and control dynamic responses in engineering systems. Selected candidates will be part of a research team enhancing knowledge in fluid–structure interaction and contributing to cutting-edge studies with practical relevance to defence and engineering sectors.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should hold a Master’s degree (M.E. / M.Tech.) in Offshore Structures, Structural Engineering, or a related postgraduate discipline from a recognised university or institute. A valid qualification in GATE or NET is required, demonstrating strong academic and research potential.
Required Expertise, Skills
Candidates with experience or a keen interest in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) are especially desirable, as the role will involve significant interaction with simulation tools and fluid flow analysis techniques. A solid foundation in structural dynamics and engineering mechanics will further support success in this position.
Salary Details
The selected Junior Research Fellow will receive a monthly stipend of ₹37,000, supplemented by an 18% House Rent Allowance (HRA), aligned with standard research fellowship norms for funded projects.
