This engaging research role invites a motivated early-career researcher to contribute to impactful work at the intersection of pharmacoepidemiology and data science within the Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences. You will be part of a dynamic research environment focused on generating real-world evidence from large healthcare datasets and using advanced analytical methods to address pressing questions in medicine use, outcomes and safety. The position is funded on a fixed-term basis and provides opportunities to collaborate with experienced researchers, contribute to peer-reviewed outputs, develop research proposals and engage with broader research networks. The work centers on accessing, curating, managing and analysing complex secondary healthcare data, and contributing to the design and execution of pharmacoepidemiologic studies that can inform policy, clinical practice and future research directions.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should hold a PhD (or have submitted their thesis) in a relevant discipline such as pharmacoepidemiology, data science, statistics, public health or a related field, or possess significant relevant research experience plus a relevant degree. You should demonstrate strong quantitative research ability and a commitment to advancing healthcare research.

Required Expertise and Skills
Applicants must have knowledge of pharmacoepidemiology, applied statistics and data analytics, with demonstrable experience in handling and analysing large secondary healthcare datasets. Proficiency in analytical programming (e.g., R) is expected. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences are essential. Collaborative working, initiative in research planning and a developing ability to contribute to funding proposals and academic publications are also important for success in this role.

Salary Details
The post offers a salary in the range of £37,694 to £44,746 per annum, subject to funding limitations.
