Dalhousie University
Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

Dalhousie University’s interdisciplinary research community is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Physics of Aging to join an innovative project at the intersection of geriatric medicine and quantitative science. This role is embedded within a collaborative initiative that unites expertise in medicine, physics, and data science to deepen understanding of how health evolves over the lifespan. The research aims to leverage clinical datasets and advanced computational methods to characterize health trajectories, improve prognostic tools, and inform strategies that support better health outcomes for aging populations. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team working on modeling complex systems and translating data into meaningful scientific insights.

General Description
This full-time research appointment focuses on designing and implementing computational and statistical approaches to analyze longitudinal health data, develop and validate dynamical models of health change, and collaborate closely with faculty mentors and clinical partners. The Fellow will contribute to publications, presentations, grant applications, and other research deliverables, and participate in academic seminars and professional development opportunities at Dalhousie.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree completed within the past six years in physics, data science, statistics, computer science, health research, or a closely related discipline. Applications are welcomed from researchers with a demonstrated commitment to rigorous quantitative research.

Required Expertise, Skills
Applicants should demonstrate strong analytical, computational, and quantitative skills, with expertise in data science, statistics, machine learning, or modeling of complex systems. Experience with longitudinal or time-series health data is an asset. Excellent written and oral communication abilities and the capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively in an interdisciplinary setting are essential. Fluency in English is required.
