Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture & Technology (SVPUAT), Meerut, has announced a new recruitment drive (Advertisement No. VII/2026) inviting online applications for the teaching post of Assistant Professor across its various constituent colleges. Established in 2000 under the Uttar Pradesh Agriculture University Act, SVPUAT is a premier state university dedicated to augmenting education, research, and outreach in Agriculture, Veterinary Sciences, Biotechnology, and allied disciplines.

College of Horticulture: Post Harvest Technology, Plant Protection, Floriculture and Landscaping, Natural Resources Management, Fruit Science, Basic Science, Vegetable Science, Social Science.
College of Post Harvest Technology and Food Processing: Food Process Engineering, Food Process Technology, Food Business Management, Food Plant Operation, Dairy Engineering, Dairy Technology, Dairy Chemistry, Dairy Microbiology.
College of Technology: Electronics and Communication Engineering, Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, Civil Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Processing and Food Engineering, Soil and Water Conservation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Nano-Technology, Electrical Engineering, Irrigation and Drainage Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering.

Application Instructions & Procedure:
Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply.
Applicants must complete the online application on the university portal and mandatory registration for the Domain Knowledge Examination. Candidates must appear for the domain knowledge test, as shortlisting for the interview depends on it.
After submitting the online application, candidates must send a signed printed hard copy of the application form along with a self-assessed scorecard and self-attested supporting documents by registered post.
Candidates currently employed must upload a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer. Candidates applying for multiple posts must submit separate online applications and fees for each post.
Application Fees: Non-refundable fee of Rs. 1500/- for General candidates; Rs. 750/- for SC/ST and Persons with Disability (PWD) candidates.
Eligibility Criteria
General Disciplines: Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in a concerned, relevant, or allied subject from a recognized university, AND clearing the NET conducted by UGC, CSIR, or ICAR, or SLET/SET, or possessing a Ph.D. degree awarded in accordance with UGC regulations. Candidates holding a Ph.D. from a foreign university ranked among the top 500 in QS, THE, or ARWU global rankings are also eligible.
Engineering Disciplines: B.E./B.Tech./B.S. and M.E./M.Tech./M.S. in the relevant branch with First Class or equivalent.
Veterinary Disciplines: Must possess a recognized basic veterinary qualification registered with a State Veterinary Council or the Veterinary Council of India, alongside the relevant Master’s degree and NET/Ph.D. requirements.
Age Limit: Maximum 40 years as on the application deadline. Age relaxation applies: 5 years for OBC (non-creamy layer) and SC/ST candidates; 15 years for PWD candidates; 5 years for regular State Government employees of Uttar Pradesh.
Required expertise/skills
Strong academic background, research orientation, and subject expertise in the relevant discipline.
Working knowledge of computers, word processing, and data processing.
Specific domain specializations (e.g., Nematology for Plant Protection) as detailed in the official university notification.
Salary details Academic Level 10 with a rationalized entry pay of Rs. 57,700/- per month.
