The University of Cambridge is recruiting a Research Assistant / Research Associate to contribute to advanced research in materials science and bioengineering. The position is based within a leading interdisciplinary research environment focused on the development of innovative materials, experimental techniques, and translational scientific applications.
The role involves participation in cutting-edge research projects that combine engineering principles, physical sciences, and biological systems. Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must hold a PhD (for Research Associate level) or be close to completion (for Research Assistant level)
- A strong academic background in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Bioengineering, or a closely related discipline is required
- Prior research experience in experimental or computational methods relevant to materials or biological systems is desirable
- Evidence of strong academic performance and research potential is expected
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment is essential
Required Expertise/Skills
- Experimental research skills in materials science or bioengineering
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques relevant to advanced materials or biological systems
- Data analysis and scientific interpretation abilities
- Experience with research software or computational tools (where applicable)

Salary Details
- £32,546 – £45,413 per annum depending on experience and appointment level (Research Assistant / Research Associate scale)
