Queen’s University Belfast is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow to contribute to high-quality, impactful research within a dynamic academic environment. The successful candidate will join a leading research-intensive institution and play a key role in advancing research objectives aligned with the University’s strategic priorities.

The post involves undertaking independent and collaborative research, contributing to the development of research outputs of international quality, and supporting ongoing and future funded projects. The role may include responsibilities such as designing and conducting research studies, collecting and analysing qualitative and/or quantitative data, preparing publications for peer-reviewed journals, contributing to funding proposals, and engaging with stakeholders where appropriate.

The successful candidate will work closely with academic staff, research teams, and external collaborators, supporting the delivery of project milestones and ensuring adherence to high standards of research integrity and governance. The role may also involve mentoring junior researchers or postgraduate students and contributing to dissemination activities including conferences, workshops, and policy engagement.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold, or be close to completion of, a PhD in a relevant discipline such as education, social sciences, or a closely related field. Candidates should demonstrate a strong academic track record appropriate to career stage, including evidence of research outputs and experience in conducting high-quality research.

Required Expertise/Skills
Candidates should possess strong research and analytical skills, with experience in qualitative and/or quantitative methodologies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to prepare high-quality academic publications and reports. Experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, and collaborative research is desirable. Familiarity with relevant research tools, data analysis software, and funding processes is advantageous. The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team is essential.

Salary Details
£37,841 – £45,148 per annum (Grade 7), depending on experience and qualifications.
