The University of Oxford is seeking to appoint an Associate Professor in Causal and Experimental Methods in Politics and Social Policy. The postholder is expected to engage with contemporary methodological developments, including field experiments, experimental ethics, and computational social science, and to foster collaboration across disciplines. Participation in executive education and training may also be required as part of the role’s broader academic engagement.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in political science, social policy, economics, sociology, or a closely related discipline. A strong record of research excellence and publication in relevant fields is essential. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to teach and supervise students effectively and contribute to curriculum development.
Required Expertise/Skills
Applicants should have expertise in causal inference and experimental methods, including field and laboratory experiments. Familiarity with computational social science approaches is highly desirable. Candidates must demonstrate engagement with ethical considerations in experimental research. Experience in delivering executive education or professional training programs is an advantage. Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills are required.
