General Description 
The London School of Economics and Political Science is seeking to appoint an LSE Fellow in Advanced Quantitative Methods within its Department of Methodology. This is a full-time, fixed-term appointment for two years, commencing in September 2026.

The Department of Methodology serves as a hub for methodological research and teaching, with a strong emphasis on the methodological development of postgraduate students. The department is interdisciplinary, comprising faculty across sociology, anthropology, international relations, political science, statistics, economics, social psychology, social policy, and criminology.

The successful candidate will have established research interests and teaching experience in advanced quantitative methods and computational social science. They will contribute actively to the department’s teaching programme through seminar teaching, delivery of methods support sessions, and supervision of dissertations or capstone projects.

The appointee will join an internationally recognised group of social science methodologists and will be encouraged to collaborate on new and ongoing research projects while developing an independent research agenda. The department has a strong track record of supporting postdoctoral fellows in progressing to tenure-track roles at leading universities globally.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have completed or be close to completing a PhD in a relevant discipline by the time of appointment.

Expertise in advanced quantitative methods and computational social science
Commitment to high-quality teaching and course development

Ability to supervise postgraduate dissertations and capstone projects

Salary details 
£43,277 to £51,714 per annum inclusive of London allowance, with potential progression to £55,497 per annum
