The University of Oxford is seeking a Research Assistant to join an internationally recognised research team working in the field of sleep, circadian rhythms, and clinical neurosciences. The post-holder will contribute to innovative research investigating sleep disorders and circadian biology, with a particular focus on their impact on human health and disease.
The role involves supporting ongoing research projects through data collection, participant coordination, and experimental procedures, including laboratory-based and clinical assessments. Responsibilities include assisting in the design and execution of studies, maintaining accurate research records, managing datasets, and contributing to data analysis and interpretation. The successful candidate will also support the preparation of research outputs, including reports and publications, and contribute to the smooth operation of the research group.
The position requires close collaboration with clinicians, researchers, and external partners, as well as interaction with study participants. The role may involve flexible working hours depending on study protocols, including occasional evening or weekend work. The post-holder will also contribute to maintaining high standards of research governance, ethics, and data protection.
Eligibility Criteria
A degree in neuroscience, psychology, biomedical sciences, or a closely related discipline
Previous experience working in a research or clinical research environment
Understanding of sleep and circadian research or related areas is desirable
Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Required Expertise/Skills
Experience in data collection, management, and basic statistical analysis
Familiarity with research methodologies in human or clinical studies
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills for working with research participants and collaborators
Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks
Proficiency in standard research software and tools
Salary Details
£28,759 to £33,966 per annum (Grade 5)
