General Description:
Swansea University is offering a fully funded EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) PhD studentship in Semiconductor Science and Engineering. This studentship, with an enhanced stipend, forms part of the CDT programme aimed at developing future skills for the semiconductor industry. The research will focus on advancing semiconductor technologies, exploring novel materials, device fabrication, and characterization techniques, and addressing challenges relevant to next-generation electronic devices. Students will benefit from interdisciplinary training, engagement with industry partners, and opportunities to contribute to high-impact research projects.
Eligibility Criteria:
- A first-class or strong upper second-class honours degree in Physics, Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related discipline.
- English language proficiency in line with Swansea University requirements for non-native speakers.
Required Expertise/Skills:
- Strong foundation in semiconductor physics, materials science, or electronic engineering.
- Experience or interest in experimental or computational techniques for semiconductor research.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and research skills suitable for a PhD environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams.
Salary Details:
- Full tuition fees plus an enhanced tax-free stipend, in line with EPSRC CDT funding
