General Description
The University of Sydney is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Mathematics and Statistics to join a leading research-intensive environment within the School of Mathematics and Statistics. The successful candidate will undertake independent and collaborative research aligned with the School’s strategic priorities. Responsibilities include conducting advanced research in mathematics and/or statistics, contributing to scholarly publications in high-quality journals, and presenting research outcomes at national and international conferences.
The role also involves supporting teaching activities, mentoring students, and contributing to the broader academic community within the School. The appointee will engage in interdisciplinary collaboration where relevant and may assist in developing grant proposals and research funding applications.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold a PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related discipline, with evidence of high-quality research outputs.
Required Expertise/Skills
Strong research background in mathematics, statistics, or related fields
Demonstrated ability to publish in peer-reviewed academic journals
Experience in developing and conducting independent research projects
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams
Experience or willingness to contribute to teaching and student supervision
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Salary Details
Base salary ranges from AUD $105,314 to $116,679 per annum (Level A), plus 17% superannuation and additional benefits.
