General Description
The University of Cambridge is seeking a Communications and Events Administrator on a fixed-term basis to support the delivery of communications and events activities within a dynamic academic and research environment. This role is positioned within one of the University’s interdisciplinary institutes and contributes to promoting research, engagement, and outreach initiatives.
The post holder will play a key role in coordinating and delivering events, supporting communications strategies, and ensuring the effective dissemination of information to internal and external audiences. Responsibilities include assisting with the planning and execution of events, managing event logistics, supporting digital and written communications, maintaining content across platforms, and liaising with stakeholders including academics, partners, and external collaborators.
Working within a globally recognised institution known for excellence in research and innovation, the successful candidate will contribute to enhancing the visibility and impact of academic work while supporting a collaborative and inclusive working environment. The role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced academic setting.
Eligibility Criteria
- A degree or equivalent qualification, or comparable professional experience
- Experience in communications, events management, or administrative roles
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a higher education, research, nonprofit, or similar professional environment
- Proven ability to coordinate activities and manage competing priorities

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in event planning and coordination
- Ability to manage digital content and communications platforms
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in standard office software and communication tools

Salary details
£31,236 – £35,608 per annum
