PhD Studentship – The Financial Judgement of AI: New Insights into Political Ideology and Role-Conditioned Bias
University of Strathclyde
Glasgow, United Kingdom
The University of Strathclyde is offering a PhD research opportunity within the field of Accounting and Finance, focusing on “The Financial Judgement of AI: New Insights into Political Ideology and Role-Conditioned Bias.” This project explores how artificial intelligence systems make financial decisions and how these decisions may be influenced by embedded biases, including political ideology and contextual role conditioning.
The research will investigate the interaction between AI-driven financial decision-making and behavioural or ideological factors, aiming to generate new insights into algorithmic bias and its implications for financial systems, policy, and governance. The successful candidate will engage in interdisciplinary research combining finance, artificial intelligence, and behavioural analysis.
The PhD candidate will conduct independent and supervised research, including the development of theoretical frameworks, empirical analysis, and potentially experimental or computational modelling. The role includes contributing to academic publications, presenting research findings at conferences, and engaging with the broader academic community within the Business School.
