General Description
University College London (UCL) is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow to contribute to an advanced research programme within a dynamic and collaborative academic environment. The role is focused on applying data science, computational, and quantitative approaches to address complex challenges in biomedical and health-related research.
The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with researchers, clinicians, and data scientists to analyse large-scale datasets and develop innovative methodologies. Responsibilities include designing and implementing research strategies, developing computational pipelines, and applying statistical or machine learning techniques to derive meaningful insights from complex biological or clinical data.
The post holder will contribute to the preparation of research publications, reports, and presentations, and will actively engage in knowledge dissemination and collaborative research activities. The role also includes supporting grant applications, mentoring junior researchers where appropriate, and contributing to the broader academic mission of the department.

Eligibility Criteria
- PhD in data science, bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics, or a closely related discipline
- Strong track record of academic achievement and research output
Required Expertise/Skills
- Experience in statistical analysis, machine learning, or computational modelling
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or similar
- Experience working with large and complex datasets, particularly in biomedical or health research
- Ability to design and implement reproducible research workflows
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
Salary Details
£41,000 – £48,000 per annum (depending on experience and UCL grading structure)
