General Description
The National Institute of Technology Warangal (NIT Warangal) has announced a research recruitment opportunity for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF). NIT Warangal, formerly known as Regional Engineering College, was established in 1959, with its foundation stone laid by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. It is the first institution in the chain of National Institutes of Technology and is recognized for its strong academic environment, experienced faculty, and advanced research infrastructure.

The institute offers eight undergraduate engineering programs (B.Tech.) and twenty-nine postgraduate programs (M.Tech., M.Sc., MCA, and MBA) across engineering, sciences, and management disciplines, along with doctoral research programs in engineering, sciences, humanities, physical education, and management.

The selected candidate will work on the research project titled “TARANG: Design of Terahertz Wireless Communications Systems for 6G,” funded by the Telecommunications Technology Development Fund (TTDF) under the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). The project focuses on advanced research in terahertz wireless communication technologies and the development of systems that will support next-generation 6G communication networks.

The Junior Research Fellow will contribute to research and development activities related to the project, including system design, analysis, and implementation of advanced communication technologies. The fellowship position is intended to support cutting-edge research in wireless communication systems while providing the selected candidate with significant exposure to academic research and innovation.

The duration of the project is three years or until the completion of the project, whichever occurs earlier. The performance of the candidate will be evaluated annually during the tenure of the project.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold a B.Tech. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering with First Class and more than 85% marks, or a B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering with First Class and more than 60% marks along with an M.Tech. in Communication or Signal Processing specialization with First Class.

Candidates must possess a valid GATE qualification.

Required Expertise/Skills
Strong academic background in Electronics and Communication Engineering or related fields
Knowledge of communication systems, signal processing, and wireless communication technologies
Ability to participate in research and development activities in advanced communication systems
Analytical and technical skills required for experimental research and system design
Capability to work collaboratively in an academic research environment

Salary Details
₹37,000 per month (consolidated stipend)
