The University of Edinburgh is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher in Chemical Biology to join the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine within the School of Regeneration and Repair at the Institute for Regeneration and Repair. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research focused on translational chemistry in the field of inflammatory diseases.
The role is offered on a full-time basis with a commitment of 35 hours per week. The successful candidate will work within an interdisciplinary research environment, collaborating with leading scientists and contributing to innovative projects that translate chemical biology approaches into therapeutic insights for inflammatory conditions. The position provides access to advanced research facilities and opportunities to contribute to impactful scientific outputs.
This is a fixed-term appointment for approximately 14 months, with the contract running until 31 August 2026. The position sits within the University’s Grade UE07 scale and is part of a dynamic research institute dedicated to advancing regenerative medicine and repair. The role involves conducting high-level laboratory research, analysing biological and chemical data, and contributing to collaborative research outputs such as publications, reports, and presentations.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold a PhD in Organic Chemistry, Protein Chemistry, Chemical Biology, or a closely related discipline. Candidates should demonstrate a strong background in chemical biology research and be capable of contributing independently within a collaborative scientific environment. Proficiency in English is required.

Experience in fluorescence imaging techniques
Experience working with clinical biosamples
Strong research and analytical capabilities in chemical biology
Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary research teams

Salary details
£40,497 to £48,149 per year
