Bhakta Kavi Narsinh Mehta University (BKNMU), Junagadh invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for direct recruitment to regular teaching positions in its postgraduate departments. The recruitment is conducted in accordance with the approval granted by the Education Department, Government of Gujarat under the provisions of the Gujarat Public Universities Uniform Statutes-2024. The university is seeking qualified academicians and researchers to contribute to teaching, research, and academic development in multiple disciplines.
The available positions include Professor and Associate Professor across specific academic departments. Vacancies include Professor in Life Sciences / Zoology and Sociology, and Associate Professor in Chemistry & Forensic Science (Analytical Chemistry). The recruitment aims to strengthen the university’s academic and research ecosystem by appointing experienced faculty members who can contribute to teaching excellence, scholarly publications, and research guidance at the postgraduate and doctoral levels. The positions are regular appointments under the university’s academic framework.
Eligibility Criteria
Professor
• An eminent scholar with a Ph.D. degree in the concerned, allied, or relevant discipline.
• Evidence of high-quality published research work with at least 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
• A total research score of 120 as per the criteria specified in Appendix II, Table 2 of UGC Regulations 2018.
• Minimum of 10 years of teaching experience in university/college as Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor, and/or research experience at equivalent level in a university or national-level institution with evidence of successfully guiding doctoral candidates.
OR
• An outstanding professional with a Ph.D. degree in the relevant or allied discipline from any academic institution or industry who has made significant contributions to knowledge supported by documentary evidence, with at least 10 years of experience.
Associate Professor
• A good academic record with a Ph.D. degree in the concerned, allied, or relevant discipline.
• A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade in a point scale).
• Minimum of eight years of teaching and/or research experience in an academic or research position equivalent to Assistant Professor in a university, college, accredited research institution, or industry.
• At least seven publications in peer-reviewed or UGC CARE listed journals.
• A minimum research score of 75 as per UGC Regulations 2018.
Required Expertise / Skills

Salary Details
• Professor – Pay Level-14: ₹1,44,200 – ₹2,18,200 (7th CPC Pay Matrix)
• Associate Professor – Pay Level-13A: ₹1,31,400 – ₹2,17,100 (7th CPC Pay Matrix)
