General Description –
Imperial College London is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Fungal Genomics, a fixed-term research position embedded within the College’s internationally recognised research environment focused on infectious disease, genomics, and bioinformatics. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-impact research in fungal biology, leveraging genomics approaches to investigate fundamental and translational questions in fungal genetics, pathogen evolution, host–pathogen interaction, or related areas of fungal genomics. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engaging in cutting-edge research that may involve next-generation sequencing data analysis, computational and experimental genomics methods, and collaboration across research groups. Eligibility Criteria
• A PhD (or equivalent doctoral qualification) in genomics, molecular biology, mycology, bioinformatics, computational biology, or a closely related discipline, awarded prior to the start date.
• A strong research record commensurate with a postdoctoral position, including peer-reviewed publications or demonstrable progress toward publication.
• Demonstrated experience in genomic data analysis and interpretation.

Required Expertise/Skills
• Expertise in fungal genomics and high-throughput sequencing technologies, including experimental or computational analysis of genomic datasets.
• Proficiency with bioinformatics tools and pipelines for genome assembly, variant analysis, phylogenomics, or functional annotation.
• Strong analytical skills, with experience using programming languages or environments such as R, Python, or similar.
• Excellent scientific communication skills, including the ability to present research findings in written and oral formats.

Salary Details –
The anticipated salary range for this postdoctoral role is in line with similar positions at Imperial College London, approximately £49,017 – £52,922 per annum (employer-provided estimate).
