Project Description

The Newton International Fellowship supports outstanding early-career researchers to conduct independent, curiosity-driven research at a UK host institution. Fellows will design and execute a clearly defined research project under the mentorship of a UK-based academic, while retaining strong intellectual ownership of the work.

The fellowship aims to foster long-term international collaboration and to support the transition of postdoctoral researchers toward scientific independence and leadership.

Funding & Duration

• Fully funded fellowship

• Duration: 2 years

• Salary at UK postdoctoral level

• Research, relocation, and travel allowances

Requirement

• PhD awarded (typically within the last 5 years)

• Non-UK nationals

• Strong publication record

• Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research
